Woe is me. I went to take a picture last night of Bell nestled in TD's arms and my Canon Powershot SD 1000 slipped out of my hand to the floor. Now is doesn't work. The lens is stuck out and will not retract. Can't do anything with the camera including downloading photos that are already on it. The camera is not even a year old. I was angry for having dropped the thing, but honestly, if you drop your cellphone or your Ipod, it doesn't break. I spent hours on the internet looking up a solution and fiddling around with the camera. It turns out that stuck lenses are a common problem and the camera manufacturers aren't good about fixing them. They need to make digital cameras that aren't so fragile. I took the camera over to a service repair center on East 13th Street. Hopefully it can be repaired and it won't be too expensive.

Oh, sorry to hear about your camera crash.
If for some reason you find yourself in the market for a new one, I love my Leica C-Lux 2.
My iphone takes pretty good shots too.

Wow! The things you find out here!
When I'm shooting pictures, I'll have to make sure there's a safety net under me. And why haven't we seen a picture of Rose? I'm still feeling sorry for her; no wonder she resents Bell!

I know that camera place, Bart. They've performed miracles on some of my equipment in the past, so hope they will for you this time.
I'm e-mailing you with a question.

I hope your camera gets better soon! But I enjoyed your camera-less Hairspray post too.
