Happy New Year

I was looking for an image of hope and I came across my picture from Sainte Chappelle which we visited in Paris in October. It was a very beautiful and serene place to sit.
The trip seems kind of a long time ago; when I got back I was laid off. This is a challenging moment for many people but I share with you encouraging words I heard on Sunday at Judson Memorial Church from assistant minister Michael Ellick:
"Have a light heart and a clear head filled with confidence."

All the best for 2009,
BB

All the best to you in 2009. I just discovered your blog and have been enjoying "spending" December and the holidays with you. I am a newspaper home and garden writer/editor who got downsized last spring so I know how you feel. I'm lucky because my husband has a pretty secure job but it is all a bit disheartening nevertheless. But it has certainly freed me up for blogging — and time to visit great homes like yours!

That comment by Mr Wellick will light my way.

St. Chappelle -- every time Mrs. E. and I visit I simply stare in wonder at the beauty of it all. And forget to take a photo. I'm glad you did.

Best wishes for 2009, it will be a banner year for you. Of that I have no doubt.
